Trevor Gordon Hall: About Trevor

The blending of a degree in Philosophy of Religion with an extreme love for music is what gives Trevor Gordon Hall his unique sound. Trevor's goal is to be able to create a connection between the abstract ideas in his mind and the concrete sounds of his instrument. It's a musical form Trevor refers to as “experiential”. What sets Trevor apart from others is his intense focus on communicating thoughts and ideas that words are unable to grasp.

Trevor’s live show and recordings both convey a relaxing yet emotive quality. The live performance incorporates/utilizes sound looping and effects pedals creating "walls of sounds" that surround the listener. Although Trevor’s pieces range in sound from edgy, driving rhythms to sweet melodic phrases, each piece sends the listener on a journey and promotes a sense of inspiration and peace. Starting out with a homemade guitar constructed from a plank of wood and fishing line, Trevor’s passion for the instrument has not waned. He wants to use the expressiveness of the guitar to pull his listeners back to the simple beauty of music and the quiet life.

Trevor has been involved in a few bands but has found his heart as a solo instrumental performer. He has performed at many venues around the greater Philadelphia area and extended north east. Trevor’s first release “Portraits of Imagination” was an independent release, which sold briskly on iTunes and has been named as one of the top New Age albums on cdbaby.com. Trevor caught the eye of 9 time grammy award winner and over 100 million record selling producer and label president Joe Nicolo (James Taylor, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, Cypress Hill, The Fugees etc.) Trevor was signed with Joe’s new label Revel Music. After working with the Grammy winning duo Joe and twin brother Phil, at the legendary Studio 4 outside of Philadelphia, a new record is complete. Trevor’s album “Finding My Way” is gaining high rated reviews from industry professionals, giving him the opportunity to work with legends such as the critically acclaimed bassist Michael Manring. And after placing third at the 2009 international Canadian Fingerstyle Guitar Competition, Trevor is excited for the coming days. His new album and a Christmas album will be released in the coming months. Stay tuned!!!
